EASY APPLE CIDER
Simple spiced apple cider! I used to buy the spices already mixed at the grocery store, and they stopped carrying it this year, so I just made my own. This is great for a shower or get together and the slow cooker keeps it warm, so guests can enjoy it through the night. When it's done, it's great mixed with spiced rum and/or a slice of orange! Leftover cider is great cold too!

Tips:
- Choose the right apples: Use a variety of apples that offer a balance of sweet, tart, and aromatic flavors. Some good options include Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, and Braeburn.
- Don't skimp on the spices: Cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves are the classic spices used in apple cider, but you can also add other spices like ginger, allspice, or cardamom to create a unique flavor profile.
- Simmer, don't boil: Bring the cider to a simmer and then reduce the heat to low. Simmering the cider will help to extract the flavors from the apples and spices without scorching the cider.
- Strain the cider: Once the cider has simmered for 30 minutes, strain it through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the solids. This will give you a smooth, clear cider.
- Serve warm or cold: Apple cider can be served warm or cold. If you're serving it warm, heat it gently over low heat until it's just warmed through. If you're serving it cold, chill it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
Conclusion:
Cinnamon-spiced apple cider is a delicious and festive drink that's perfect for fall and winter gatherings. It's easy to make and can be customized to your own taste. Whether you like it sweet, tart, or spicy, there's an apple cider recipe out there for you. So grab a mug and enjoy a warm, flavorful cup of apple cider today!
