2 garlic cloves, minced

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup ketchup
1 -2 teaspoon hot sauce
1 lb ground beef (80/20 mix)
1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese, plus 1/2 cup for topping
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/3 cup plain breadcrumbs
sour cream, for topping
1/4 cup sliced scallion, for topping
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
2 large eggs
