CHERRY-O-CREAM CHEESE PIE
My mother introduced me to this recipe back in the early '60s, soon after Frank and I married. At that time, the only place we knew to get it was in a little folded round paper glued to the top of Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk cans. For years, I had several copies of these little treasures, but now I can't find even one....

Tips:
- To achieve a flaky crust, use a pastry blender or your fingers to work the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before rolling it out. This will help prevent the dough from becoming too elastic and difficult to work with.
- When rolling out the dough, use a light touch and avoid overworking it. This will help prevent the crust from becoming tough.
- To prevent the bottom crust from becoming soggy, pre-bake it for 10-12 minutes before adding the filling.
- For a creamier filling, use a combination of whipped cream and sour cream.
- To achieve a glossy glaze, brush the top of the pie with an egg wash before baking.
- Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing and serving. This will help the filling set properly.
Conclusion:
With its flaky crust, creamy filling, and sweet-tart cherry flavor, Cherry-O-Cream Pie is a classic dessert that is sure to please everyone at your table. By following the tips and tricks outlined above, you can easily make this delicious pie at home.
