Tips:

  • Choose the right jalapenos: Look for medium-sized jalapenos with smooth, unblemished skin. Avoid any that are too large or have soft spots.
  • Wear gloves when handling jalapenos: The capsaicin in jalapenos can irritate your skin, so it's best to wear gloves when cutting and seeding them.
  • Seed the jalapenos thoroughly: To remove the heat from the jalapenos, you need to remove the seeds and ribs completely. Use a small spoon or paring knife to carefully scrape out the seeds and ribs.
  • Use a variety of cheeses: Feel free to experiment with different types of cheeses for the filling. A good melting cheese, such as cheddar or Monterey Jack, is a good starting point. You can also add some Parmesan or crumbled blue cheese for extra flavor.
  • Don't overstuff the jalapenos: You want the jalapenos to be stuffed, but not so full that they burst open when you cook them. Aim for about 1 tablespoon of filling per jalapeno.
  • Use a toothpick to secure the bacon: If you're using bacon to wrap the jalapenos, use a toothpick to secure it in place. This will help keep the bacon from unraveling during cooking.
  • Bake the jalapenos until they're golden brown: The jalapenos are done baking when they're golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. This usually takes about 20 minutes.

Conclusion:

Cheesy rice stuffed jalapeno poppers are a delicious and easy appetizer that are perfect for any party or gathering. They're also a great way to use up leftover rice. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a dish that will impress your guests.
