FETA CHEESE FOLDOVERS

Feta Cheese Foldovers image

These are incredible! I always have to make a double batch. They are sure to be a hit and are so easy to make.

Provided by Little Bee

Categories     Cheese

Time 30m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

8 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
3 tablespoons finely chopped green onions
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
1 egg, beaten
1 (17 1/2 ounce) package frozen puff pastry, thawed
1 egg yolk, beaten with
1 teaspoon water

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F In a small bowl, blend feta cheese, green onions, and egg.
  • Cut pastry into 12 (3 inch) squares.
  • Place a mounded tablespoon of feta mixture in the center of each square.
  • Moisten edges with water, and fold pastry over filling to form a triangle.
  • Press edges together firmly with a fork to seal.
  • Lightly brush pastries with the egg yolk mixture.
  • Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature.

Tips:

  • For the best results, use high-quality ground beef. Look for meat that is at least 80% lean and has a good amount of marbling.
  • Season the ground beef well. A simple combination of salt, pepper, and garlic powder is all you need.
  • Don't overcook the ground beef. Cook it just until it is browned and no longer pink in the center.
  • Use a good quality cheese. A sharp cheddar or mozzarella will work well.
  • Make sure the tortillas are warm and pliable before you fill them. This will help prevent them from cracking.
  • Don't overload the tortillas with filling. Too much filling will make them difficult to fold and seal.
  • Cook the cheeseburger foldovers in a hot skillet until they are golden brown and crispy.

Conclusion:

Cheeseburger foldovers are a quick and easy meal that is perfect for busy weeknights. They are also a great way to use up leftover ground beef. With a few simple ingredients, you can have a delicious and satisfying meal on the table in no time.
