PERFECT CORNBREAD STICKS

Perfect Cornbread Sticks image

This is a melt in your mouth recipe. I have 3 molds for corn sticks, two are cast iron and one is glass. I use the cast iron. I usually do this recipe in the Winter, when the wood cook stove is fired up, and heat the mold on top of the stove before pouring the batter into the forms. This is the perfect accompaniment to my black bean soup.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh corn kernels give the cornbread sticks a sweet and juicy flavor. If you don't have fresh corn, you can use frozen corn kernels, but be sure to thaw them before using.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make the cornbread sticks tough. Mix the batter just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the cornbread sticks in a hot oven: A hot oven will help the cornbread sticks rise and cook evenly. Preheat the oven to 400°F before baking the cornbread sticks.
  • Serve the cornbread sticks warm: Cornbread sticks are best served warm. You can reheat them in the oven or microwave if necessary.

Conclusion:

Cayenne cornbread sticks are a delicious and easy-to-make snack or side dish. They are perfect for parties, potlucks, or any other gathering. With their slightly spicy flavor and crispy texture, cayenne cornbread sticks are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them.
