Yield 2

Number Of Ingredients 8

½ cup buttermilk
½ cup water
salt and pepper, to taste
1 pound catfish fillets, cut in strips
1 ½ cups fine cornmeal
½ cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon seafood seasoning, such as Old Bay™
1 quart vegetable oil for deep frying

  • Dredge the catfish fillets in seasoned flour: This will help to create a crispy crust on the fish.
  • Cook the catfish fillets over medium-high heat: This will help to prevent the fish from sticking to the pan and will also help to create a crispy crust.
  • Flip the catfish fillets once during cooking: This will help to ensure that the fish is cooked evenly.
  • Serve the catfish fillets with southwestern relish: The relish will add a sweet and tangy flavor to the fish.
