I found this recipe on CopyKat Recipes about ten years ago. It no longer appears to be on the site. I've never tried it, but want to put it here for safekeeping. I used to live in Waco, and loved to eat at Casa Ole - their green sauce was one of my favorite things.

6 small avocados
1 (16 ounce) container sour cream
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
8 ounces salsa verde, pace medium (without the diced green chilies)
1 (4 ounce) can diced green chilies
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons lemon juice
3 ounces cream cheese

Steps:

  • Break up avocado slices.
  • Mix slowly at first in open bowl and then blend all ingredients until smooth.

2 -3 serrano peppers, chopped and put into blender do not seed
1/2 cup cilantro, stemmed put into blender
8 ounces light sour cream
1 -2 teaspoon fresh garlic, crushed
4 tablespoons lime juice
1 teaspoon salt (taste, andadjust later)
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • Roast Serranos over open flame or in oven on broil.
  • Bag or wrap in plastic to loosen skins.
