Tips:
- Use fresh popcorn for the best flavor and texture.
- If you don't have a candy thermometer, you can use the cold water test to check if the caramel is ready. Drop a small amount of caramel into a bowl of cold water. If it forms a hard ball, the caramel is ready.
- Be careful not to overcook the caramel, or it will become too hard.
- If the caramel is too thick, you can add a little bit of water or milk to thin it out.
- Let the caramel cool slightly before pouring it over the popcorn, or it will melt the popcorn.
- Press the popcorn mixture firmly into the pan to help it hold together.
- Chill the popcorn squares for at least 30 minutes before cutting them, or they will be too soft.
