Tips:

- Use oranges that are fresh, ripe, and have a thin rind for easy candying. - To get the most juice out of your oranges, microwave them for 20 seconds before juicing. - When zesting oranges, use a microplane grater to get the finest zest. - To make the cake moist and tender, use a combination of all-purpose flour and cake flour. - Don't overmix the cake batter, as this can result in a tough cake. - Bake the cake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. - For the perfect candied orange garnish make sure to infuse the syrup with orange zest and juice, and simmer the orange slices until translucent. - When dipping the candied orange slices in chocolate, use a fork to help you hold them and to prevent smudging the chocolate. - Allow the chocolate-dipped orange slices to cool completely before serving, so the chocolate can set and harden.
