1 cup regular sugar
1 cup milk
1 stick (115 g) butter
2 cups of figs chopped

Steps:

  • Chop the figs about 3 hours before making the cobbler and put 1/2 cup sugar on them and cover them in the fridge.
  • Melt the stick of butter in the bottom of a 6-8 inch baking dish, mix flour, sugar, and milk, pour into the melted butter dish, then add the figs and stir it all up in the dish.
  • Bake at 350 F until it just starts to brown. Approximately 30 to 40 minutes.

I love it because it reminds me of the berry picking days of my youth. The reward was a homemade cobbler with the fruit we had picked that day. I have looked for many years to find THIS recipe. It taste like the cobblers of my childhood days. My search is over and this one is in my favorite file. During the baking process, the batter rolls over and you end up with a sugar glazed crust. 1 (21 ounce) can pie filling
1/2 cup margarine (melted) or 1/2 cup butter (melted)
1 cup plain flour

8 fresh peaches - peeled, pitted and sliced into thin wedges
¼ cup white sugar
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup white sugar
