  • Remove from water.
  • Drain the sink, then put more fresh water in the sink and wash spinach again.

  • Drain in colander.
  • Return to pan, add butter, salt and pepper, stir to coat.

Tips:

  • Utilize fresh spinach: Fresh spinach provides a vibrant color, crisp texture, and a more pronounced flavor compared to frozen or wilted spinach.
  • Wash and drain spinach thoroughly: Ensure that the spinach is thoroughly rinsed to remove any dirt or debris. Drain the spinach well to prevent excess water from diluting the sauce.
  • Use unsalted butter: Unsalted butter allows you to control the saltiness of the dish, preventing it from becoming overly salty. You can adjust the salt seasoning according to your preference.
  • Cook spinach over medium heat: Cooking the spinach over medium heat helps to maintain its vibrant green color and prevents it from becoming mushy.
  • Add lemon juice and zest towards the end of cooking: Adding lemon juice and zest at the end of cooking helps to preserve their bright flavor and aroma. Avoid prolonged cooking of lemon to prevent bitterness.
  • Season to taste: Taste the spinach before serving and adjust the seasoning as needed. Add additional salt, pepper, or lemon juice to achieve the desired flavor balance.
