Tips:

  • Use fresh apples: Fresh apples provide the best flavor and texture for these cookies. Choose a variety that is firm and crisp, such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp.
  • Peel and core the apples: Be sure to peel and core the apples before using them in the cookies. This will help to remove any unwanted bitterness or tartness.
  • Use a food processor to grate the apples: A food processor is the easiest way to grate the apples. If you don't have a food processor, you can grate the apples by hand using a box grater.
  • Don't overmix the dough: Overmixing the dough will make the cookies tough. Mix the dough just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the dough before baking: Chilling the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking will help the cookies to hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just set: The cookies are done baking when they are just set in the center. Overbaking will make the cookies dry and crumbly.

Conclusion:

Butterscotch apple cookies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. The combination of sweet and tart apples, butterscotch chips, and oats creates a cookie that is both flavorful and satisfying. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create these delicious cookies that are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them.
