Tips:
- Choose the right squash: Look for butternut squash that is firm and heavy for its size, with a deep orange color. Avoid squash with blemishes or soft spots.
- Roast the squash properly: To get the best flavor and texture, roast the squash at a high temperature (400°F or higher) until it is tender and slightly caramelized. You can also add a little oil or butter to the squash before roasting to help it brown.
- Make the maple butter ahead of time: The maple butter can be made up to a week in advance and stored in the refrigerator. When you're ready to serve the squash, simply reheat the maple butter in the microwave or on the stovetop.
- Serve the squash immediately: Butternut squash is best served immediately after it is roasted. The maple butter will start to melt and the squash will lose its heat if it sits for too long.
Conclusion:
Butternut squash with maple butter is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for fall and winter meals. The squash is roasted until tender and slightly caramelized, then topped with a sweet and savory maple butter. This dish is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
