Bread machine recipes haven't always turned out good loaves for me, but I found a yummy recipe and then modified it for a wheat loaf recipe that turns out a delightfully light and fluffy loaf.

BREAD MACHINE WHEAT BREAD
To fit in the bread machine, we adjusted the amounts of ingredients to produce only one loaf. This whole wheat bread machine recipe retails the same sweet taste and tender texture as the original loaf, without having to knead the dough by hand.- Taste of Home Test Kitchen, Greendale, Wisconsin

MAPLE WHEAT BREAD FOR THE BREAD MACHINE
I recently bought a new bread machine, and this was one of the recipes included in the instruction booklet.I've made this particular recipe twice, once on the basic bread cycle and once just using the dough cycle and finishing up in the oven.I personally prefer using just the dough cycle, after baking in the oven the crust doesn't seem as hard as it did using the basic cycle.I've tried a few recipes from this site for wheat bread and they weren't exactly what I was looking for,but to me this one is just perfect.Prep time is an estimate depending on your particular machine. If you try this, please leave a review I would love to know what you think. For our Canadian Chefs, I have included the amount of The Canadian Bread flour in parenthesis. This recipe makes a 1.5 loaf. WHEAT 'N YOGURT BREAD FOR BREAD MACHINE
This is my go-to recipe for my bread machine. I make a couple loaves every week. The recipe came in the booklet along with my machine...I wish I could find that booklet but luckily I wrote the recipe down. Since I'm messy with flour, I like to only measure these ingredients occasionally. I like to measure out all the dry ingredients, except the yeast, and store in a gallon-size baggie in the freezer. I make all at once about 6 baggies, so when I want to make a quick loaf before I go to bed, I just have to add the water, yogurt, my baggie of dry ingredients, the butter, and yeast. It's SO convenient.

Steps:
- Follow your breadmaker's instructions regarding how to add ingredients. My breadmaker requests me to do the following:.
- Add liquids to the bread pan first, then dry. Level the dry; quarter the butter and add to corners. Make an impression in the center of the dry ingredients and add the yeast.
- If bread collapses during the baking period, next time add 1 or 1 ½ tablespoons vital wheat gluten to the recipe to prevent from happening again.
- I set my bread maker to 'whole wheat', 'light crust', '2 lb loaf'.

- If you prefer a crispier crust, brush the top of the loaf with water before baking.
