Tips:
- Use high-quality ingredients: Fresh and flavorful ingredients will make a big difference in the taste of your dish. Look for sweet Italian sausage that is made with fresh pork and has a good balance of spices.
- Cook the sausage thoroughly: Sausage should be cooked to an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure that it is safe to eat. Use a meat thermometer to check the temperature.
- Don't overcrowd the pan: When cooking the sausage, make sure to give it enough space in the pan so that it can brown evenly. If you overcrowd the pan, the sausage will steam instead of brown.
- Use a variety of vegetables: This recipe calls for bell peppers and onions, but you can also add other vegetables such as mushrooms, zucchini, or squash. Use whatever vegetables you have on hand or that you think your family will enjoy.
- Season the pasta to taste: Once the pasta is cooked, taste it and add more salt and pepper if needed. You can also add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little spice.
- Serve immediately: This dish is best served hot and fresh. Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley before serving.
