BONNY BERRY BREAD

Bonny Berry Bread image

This is a delicious dessert and so easy to make . I have no idea why its named this this way because its more a cobbler than a bread. I found this recipe in an old cook book from 1965. It was originally posted by a teacher named : Mrs. Edith Oliveira from Pahala , Hawaii. You can change the fruit pie filling to any flavor you wish . I've done it in strawberry filling and it was great . This is a net picture.

BONNIE'S BEST BANANA BREAD - BONNIE STERN

Bonnie's Best Banana Bread - Bonnie Stern image

When I was little, I had an "Aunt" that used to visit, and would always make an incredible banana bread. It was my job to lick the bowl :). I was much to young to ever think about asking for the recipe. So now, many, many years later, I'm still looking for that illusive recipe.....until now. I think I found it this morning. I can only tell you that after licking the bowl......I felt like a little girl again. This bread is so very light and flavourful. Not surprising really.....it's from Bonnie Stern. I don't think I've ever been disappointed in any recipe of hers. Hope you enjoy this as much as I am.....right now.

Tips for Making Bonny Berry Bread

  • Use fresh or frozen berries for the best flavor.
  • Toss the berries in a little flour before adding them to the batter to prevent them from sinking to the bottom of the loaf.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing will make the bread tough.
  • Bake the bread in a preheated oven. This will help the bread rise evenly.
  • Check the bread for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center of the loaf. If the toothpick comes out clean, the bread is done.
  • Let the bread cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Conclusion

Bonny berry bread is a delicious and easy-to-make bread that is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a snack.
