BLEU CHEESE DIP

This is another great recipe from Horn of the Moon. It is especially good on carrots and celery. Use lots of black pepper. This would also be great in a vegetarian sandwich with sprouts, spinach and cucumber. Add chopped green onion if you want.

Time 10m

Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 cup sour cream
1 1/2 cups crumbled blue cheese
1/2 cup plain yogurt (I've used vanilla when I couldn't find small containers of plain and it tastes fine)
1 teaspoon dried dill (or 1 T chopped fresh)
1/8 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Mix all of the ingredients together in a small bowl. The dip gets thicker as it sets. Even better if you make it the day before.

BLEU CHEESE DIP

Categories     Appetizer

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 - 8 oz. wedge bleu cheese
2 c. mayonnaise
1 medium onion, chopped
1-1/2 cloves garlic, minced
2 T. wine vinegar

Steps:

  • Crumble bleu cheese and fold in mayonnaise. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Chill for 2 hours before serving. Serve with a variety of fresh raw vegetables.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients, the better the dip will taste. Opt for a sharp blue cheese with a bold flavor and a creamy, spreadable texture. Use full-fat sour cream and mayonnaise for a rich and decadent dip.
  • Don't overmix the dip: Overmixing can make the dip thick and pasty. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
  • Let the dip chill before serving: Chilling the dip allows the flavors to meld and develop. It also makes the dip easier to spread.
  • Serve the dip with a variety of dippers: Try serving the dip with crackers, bread, vegetables, or even fruit. The possibilities are endless!

Conclusion:

Blue cheese dip is a versatile and delicious appetizer or snack that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. Whether you like it mild or spicy, tangy or creamy, there is a blue cheese dip recipe out there for you. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy appetizer, give blue cheese dip a try.
