BISQUICK CHOCOLATE CHIP BARS

Bisquick Chocolate Chip Bars image

So easy, incredibly yummy and chewy. The recipe calls for 1 cup of chocolate chips but I use about 1 and a half. ***UPDATE***Just an added note, I've used a copycat version of bisquick and it turns out VERY greasy so you might want to reduce the oil content if you are using a homemade baking mix.

This recipe has been in my box for almost 40 years. These delectable bar cookies can be made with any baking mix, and are especially good if you are a wheat grinder and make your own biscuit baking mix. I love dates, so this is a favorite cookie at Holiday time. They are very pretty served on a red plate lined with gold paper...

CHEWY CHOCOLATE CHIP BARS IN A JAR

Chewy Chocolate Chip Bars in a Jar image

This recipe starts with bisquick baking mix. It is easy and has all three kinds of chocolate chips or you can switch up for different chips. My favorite is Chocolate mint instead of the milk chocolate ones

Provided by Stormy Stewart

Categories     Chocolate

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/4 c milk chocolate chips
1/4 c vanilla or white chocolate chips
1/4 c semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 c chopped walnuts toasted (see below)
1/2 c dark brown sugar packed
1 c bisquick
1/2 c light brown sugar, firmly packed
1 c bisquick

Steps:

  • 1. In 1-quart wide-mouth jar, gently layer and pack ingredients in the order listed, beginning with the white chocolate or vanilla chips. If there is any space left after adding the last ingredient, add more semisweet chips to fill the jar. Place lid on top. Cut an 8-inch circle of fabric to cover the lid. Place fabric over the lid; secure in place with ribbon or raffia. Decorate as desired. * To toast walnuts, place in a microwave safe dish and microwave on HIGH for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring every minute. ** After measuring the brown sugar, crumble it between your fingers for uniform texture. Be sure to pack the brown sugar firmly in the jar to prevent the baking mix from sifting down through it.
  • 2. Make gift card to attach as follows: Chewy Chocolate Chip Bars: Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Empty contents of jar into medium bowl. Stir in: 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, melted 1 large egg 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Press into 8-inch square baking pan coated with cooking spray. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until bars are light golden and center is almost set. Makes 16 bars.

BISQUICK® BARS

Bisquick® Bars image

This recipe is about 50 years old. I don't know if it was ever on a box of Bisquick® or not. It was given to me.

Time 40m

Yield 16

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 cups baking mix (such as Bisquick ®)
4 eggs, beaten
1 (16 ounce) package brown sugar
1 cup flaked coconut
1 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Beat baking mix, eggs, and sugar together into a smooth batter. Fold coconut and pecans through the batter.
  • Bake in preheated oven until set in the center, 30 to 35 minutes.

Tips:

  • Use parchment paper: Lining the baking pan with parchment paper makes it easy to remove the bars from the pan without sticking.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing can make the bars tough. Mix the batter just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the bars until they are set: The bars are done baking when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the bars cool completely before cutting them: Cutting the bars while they are still warm can cause them to crumble.
  • Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature: The bars will stay fresh for up to 3 days.

Conclusion:

Bisquick Chewy Bars are a quick and easy treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are perfect for potlucks, bake sales, or a simple snack. With their chewy texture and delicious flavor, these bars are sure to be a hit!
