FOR THE BISCUITS
2 c bisquick
1/4 c melted butter
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp sugar
1 c milk
GROUND VENISON GRAVY
1 lb ground venison
1/4 c butter
1 small onion chopped
4 clove garlic minced
1 Tbsp beef bouillon
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp each garlic and onion powder
1 tsp each dried parsley and red pepper flakes
1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
1/4 c flour
2 1/4 c milk

Steps:

  • 1. Biscuits Mix all ingredients together except the milk. Add the milk slowly and use more or less to just get the batter moist enough to hold together. Drop about a cup size on sprayed baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees until browned about 15 to 20 minutes. Set aside.
  • 2. For the gravy add the butter to saucepan. Once butter is melted saute the onion a couple of minutes. Add the garlic and saute 1 minute. Add the venison beef bouillon seasonings, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until the meat is no longer pink. Add the flour and mix well. Slowly add the milk and stirring constantly until thickened.
  • 3. Serve over biscuits.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: Fresh, high-quality ingredients will yield the best results. This is especially important for the maple syrup, which should be pure and flavorful.
  • Be careful not to overmix the biscuit dough: Overmixing will result in tough, dense biscuits. Mix the dough just until it comes together.
  • Roll out the biscuit dough to the proper thickness: The biscuits should be rolled out to a thickness of about 1/2 inch. This will ensure that they cook evenly.
  • Bake the biscuits until they are golden brown: The biscuits are done baking when they are golden brown on top and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Make the maple gravy while the biscuits are baking: This will ensure that the gravy is hot and ready to serve when the biscuits are done.
  • Serve the biscuits and gravy immediately: Biscuits and gravy are best served hot and fresh. If you need to make them ahead of time, you can reheat them in the oven or microwave.

Conclusion:

Biscuits and deer maple gravy is a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast or brunch dish. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a meal that your family and friends will love. So next time you're looking for a hearty and satisfying meal, give this recipe a try!
