This is honestly a great and simple chip dip recipe that I got from a friend years ago, though I have made a couple little changes of my own. It is always a hit at get togethers. You'll never want store bought dip again!

BEST CHIP DIP EVER

We never have a family gathering without this. It has even been made up, chilled, stored in luggage and taken on a recent trip to Texas. (Hotel had mini-fridge so it went from insulated bag to fridge).

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 6

8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
Few dash(es) worcestershire
Few dash(es) ketchup - just for color
dash(es) milk - just enough to help cream the cheese
dash(es) onion salt - to taste
dash(es) garlic salt - to taste

Steps:

  • 1. Place cream cheese into processor and add a little milk - blend until smooth adding small doses of milk as needed. If cream cheese is soft enough you can even whip this up with a fork.
  • 2. Add worcestershire and ketchup - just enough ketchup to give it a little color. Mix until fully blended.
  • 3. Add onion and garlic salt - small shakes and taste after blended. Don't want to make it to salty. Do not substitute garlic powder for the salt - it has been tried by a family member and everyone turns up their nose at the difference in taste :)

Tips:

  • Use Fresh Ingredients: The quality of your dip will depend on the quality of your ingredients. Use fresh vegetables, herbs, and spices whenever possible.
  • Don't Overmix: Overmixing your dip can make it runny and less flavorful. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill Before Serving: Most dips are best served chilled. This allows the flavors to meld and develop.
  • Garnish with Herbs: A sprinkle of fresh herbs can add a pop of color and flavor to your dip.
  • Use a Variety of Chips: Don't limit yourself to just one type of chip. Offer a variety of chips, such as tortilla chips, pita chips, and vegetable chips, to give your guests options.
