This is a GREAT alternative to chips and dip. I take this everywhere and always get asked for the recipe. It is awesome! It is best served with mini-twist pretzels, but it's also great with veggies.

BEER CHEESE PRETZEL AND DIP

Beer Cheese Pretzel and Dip image

My best friend shared this recipe with me, and we are SO SICK of making it -- but it's always requested at our parties! We have made the pretzel in various shapes, depending on the occasion (e.g., hearts, sorority letters, etc.). The pretzel may be partially baked ahead of time and frozen. The dip may also be prepared in advance.

Tips:

  • Use a good quality beer. The flavor of the beer will come through in the dip, so it's important to use a beer that you enjoy drinking. A light or amber beer works well.
  • Shred your own cheese. Pre-shredded cheese is often coated with cellulose, which can prevent it from melting smoothly. Shredding your own cheese will ensure that it melts evenly and creates a smooth, creamy dip.
  • Don't overcook the dip. The cheese should be melted and bubbly, but it shouldn't be overcooked or it will become tough and rubbery. Keep an eye on the dip and remove it from the heat as soon as it's melted.
  • Serve the dip with your favorite dippers. Pretzels, bread cubes, and vegetables are all great options for dipping in beer cheese dip.

Conclusion:

Beer cheese pretzel dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It's also a great way to use up leftover beer. With its creamy, cheesy texture and flavorful beer taste, this dip is sure to be a hit with your friends and family. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy appetizer, give beer cheese pretzel dip a try.
