- 1. Add jalapeno and onion to skillet and let it cook for a couple of minutes. Then add your ground beef and brown it. Drain & return to skillet. Now I use a cast iron skillet for all my cooking - I just love my cast iron! Anyway - Then add your garlic and mix it in. Add tomatoes stir it in and then add your taco seasoning - (I don't add any water to this) Then I let it sit on low for about 3 minutes or so then I add the rice and hot sauce and salt and pepper to taste.
