Salt and pepper
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
8 cups low-sodium chicken broth
1 (2-inch) piece ginger, halved lengthwise and smashed
3 (2 1/2-inch) strips lime zest, plus 1 tablespoon juice
4 packages instant ramen noodles (seasoning packets discarded)
5 scallions, sliced thin
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves

Add steak and cook until well browned and temperature registers 125 degrees for medium-rare, six to eight minutes, flipping once. Transfer to cutting board, tent loosely with aluminum foil, and let rest for five minutes. Slice steak in half lengthwise, then slice thin against grain. 2. Meanwhile, bring broth, ginger, and lime zest to boil in Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes. 3. Remove ginger and lime zest from broth with slotted spoon. Add noodles and cook until tender, about three minutes. Stir in scallions, soy sauce, and lime juice. Tips:

  • Choose the right noodles: For an authentic ramen experience, use fresh ramen noodles. If you can't find them, you can substitute dried ramen noodles, but be sure to cook them according to the package directions.
  • Use a good quality broth: The broth is the foundation of any ramen soup, so it's important to use a good quality one. You can make your own broth from scratch, or you can use a store-bought broth. If you're using a store-bought broth, be sure to doctor it up with some fresh ginger, garlic, and scallions.
  • Don't overcrowd the pot: When you're cooking the noodles, don't overcrowd the pot. This will prevent the noodles from cooking evenly.
  • Add the toppings last: Once the noodles and broth are cooked, it's time to add the toppings. Common toppings include sliced green onions, boiled eggs, roasted pork, and seaweed. You can also get creative and add your own favorite toppings.
  • Serve immediately: Ramen soup is best served immediately after it's made. This will prevent the noodles from becoming soggy.

Conclusion:

Ramen noodle soup is a delicious and easy-to-make meal that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With a few simple ingredients, you can create a bowl of ramen that is both flavorful and satisfying. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give ramen noodle soup a try.
