Tips:

  • For a heartier stew, use two pounds of stew meat instead of one. You can also add other vegetables, such as carrots, celery, or potatoes.
  • If you don't have pearl barley, you can use another type of grain, such as brown rice or quinoa.
  • To make the stew ahead of time, cook it according to the recipe and then let it cool completely. Store the stew in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
  • When you're ready to reheat the stew, thaw it overnight in the refrigerator or at room temperature for several hours. You can then reheat the stew in a saucepan over medium heat until it's warmed through.

Conclusion:

This beef barley skillet is a hearty and flavorful meal that's perfect for a cold night. It's also relatively easy to make, and it's a great way to use up leftover beef. So next time you're looking for a comforting and delicious meal, give this beef barley skillet a try.
