My Mom got this recipe from Her cousin. She makes it when we have family get togethers and I have made it several times when looking for a different vegetable dish..I like the fact it takes ingredients that I always have on hand and it requires so little work. I can fix it and forget it while I work on other parts of the meal.

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 5

6 slice bacon, cut up
1 medium onion, diced
1 can(s) tomato soup
3 Tbsp brown sugar
2 can(s) green beans, drained

Steps:

  • 1. Saute bacon and onion. Add tomato soup brown sugar. Pour over green beans. Stir together. Bake in casserole dish at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh, tender green beans: Look for beans that are bright green in color and have a crisp texture. Avoid beans that are wilted or have brown spots.
  • Trim the green beans: Remove the ends of the green beans before cooking. You can also use a vegetable peeler to remove any strings from the beans.
  • Blanch the green beans: Blanching the green beans helps to preserve their color and nutrients. To blanch the beans, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until they are bright green and tender. Immediately remove the beans from the boiling water and plunge them into a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.
  • Marinate the green beans: Marinating the green beans in a flavorful mixture of olive oil, herbs, and spices helps to infuse them with flavor. You can marinate the beans for as little as 30 minutes or up to overnight.
  • Grill the green beans: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Brush the green beans with olive oil and season them with salt and pepper. Grill the beans for 5-7 minutes per side, or until they are charred and tender.

Conclusion:

BBQ green beans are a delicious and easy-to-make side dish that is perfect for any occasion. They are packed with flavor and nutrients, and they can be grilled, roasted, or sauteed. Whether you are looking for a healthy and flavorful side dish for your next barbecue or a quick and easy weeknight meal, BBQ green beans are a great option.
