Steps:
- Rinse, tie (if desired), and pat dry roast and place in crock pot.
- Mix seasoning, onion, pepper flakes (optional), ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, vinegar and apple juice until blended.
- Pour over pork. Cover. Cook 8 hours on low or 4 hours on high (cook until tender and starts to fall apart when pulled with fork).
- Remove pork from slow cooker, discard large pieces of fat. Pour off liquid and reserve (optional-see note below).
- Pull meat apart with forks and return pot; add bottled BBQ sauce to desired consistancy. Mix and heat with sauce before serving.
- Note: If you prefer you can skim fat from reserved liquid, simmer on stove top to reduce, strain and thicken with 2 tablespoons corn starch in small amount of water to make your own tasty sauce, but this is a little more difficult and time consuming and this is supposed to be a quick and easy dinner. :-).

Tips:
- Choose the right cut of pork: Pork shoulder (also known as pork butt) is the best cut for barbecue because it has a lot of marbling, which makes it tender and flavorful. You can also use pork loin, but it will be less tender.
- Use a good quality rub: The rub is what gives the pork its flavor, so it's important to use a good quality rub. You can find many different recipes for barbecue rubs online or in cookbooks. You can buy good sauce too.
- Cook the pork slowly and low: The best way to cook barbecue pork is to cook it slowly and low. This allows the collagen in the pork to break down, which makes it tender and flavorful. You can cook the pork in a smoker, grill, or oven.
- Baste the pork regularly: Basting the pork helps to keep it moist and flavorful. You can baste the pork with the sauce that you're using or with a mixture of apple cider vinegar, water, and brown sugar.
- Let the pork rest before serving: Once the pork is cooked, let it rest for a few minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, making it even more tender and flavorful.
Conclusion:
Barbecue pork is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed in many different ways. Whether you're serving it on a bun with coleslaw and barbecue sauce, or slicing it up to serve with your favorite sides, barbecue pork is sure to be a hit. So fire up your grill or smoker and give these recipes a try!
