1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 large egg
1 1/3 cups mashed very ripe bananas (about 3 large)
3 tablespoons buttermilk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter and flour 8x8x2-inch metal baking pan. Stir chocolate chips, brown sugar, walnuts, and cinnamon in small bowl until well blended; set streusel aside. 1 c all-purpose flour
1 c quick or old-fashioned oatmeal (not instant)
1 c packed light brown sugar
3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1 stick cold butter, cut into small pieces
CAKE BATTER
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 stick butter, softened
1-1/4 c sugar
2 large eggs
1 c mashed bananas (about 3 small)
1 tsp vanilla extract
2-1/4 c all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1. For the topping, combine all ingredients in a food processor and pulse into small moist crumbs (or cut butter into dry ingredients with a pastry blender or even with your fingers). Refrigerate while preparing cake batter.
