These muffins are so moist and full of flavor! I have looked at dozens of recipes and most had too much sugar for my liking. There is absolutely no need for a lot of sugar to make these muffins delicious. Because they have bananas and chocolate chips, I just added 1/2 cup of sugar, which turned out perfect!

Tips for Making the Best Banana Cacao Muffins

  • Use ripe bananas. The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your muffins will be.
  • Mash the bananas thoroughly. This will help to create a smooth, even batter.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in tough muffins. Just mix until the ingredients are combined.
  • Use a variety of chocolate chips. This will add flavor and texture to your muffins.
  • Bake the muffins until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Overbaking can result in dry muffins.
