Categories     Sweet Breads

Time 1h15m

Number Of Ingredients 7

3 medium ripe bananas
3/4 c sugar
2 medium eggs
2 c all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
1/2 c nut meats chopped

Steps:

  • 1. Crush bananas with silver spoon. Add eggs beaten light, sugar, flour sifted, with salt, and soda, and nut meats.
  • 2. Bake 1 hour in moderately slow oven 325ºF / 162.78ºC
  • 3. Makes 1 loaf 5" x 9"

Tips:

  • Using ripe bananas: For the best flavor and texture, use very ripe bananas with dark brown peels. These bananas are sweeter and have a more intense banana flavor.
  • Measuring flour correctly: To ensure accurate measurements, use a kitchen scale to weigh the flour instead of using a measuring cup. This method is more precise and will prevent you from adding too much or too little flour.
  • Mixing the batter: Do not overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in a tough, dense banana bread. Mix just until the ingredients are combined and no streaks of flour remain.
  • Baking the banana bread: Bake the banana bread in a preheated oven. This will help ensure that the bread bakes evenly. Check the bread for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center. The toothpick should come out clean or with just a few moist crumbs attached.
