Tips:

  • To ensure the pork chops are cooked evenly, it's important to use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. The chops should be cooked to an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) for medium-rare, 155°F (68°C) for medium, or 165°F (74°C) for well-done.
  • If you don't have a meat thermometer, you can check the doneness of the pork chops by cutting into the thickest part of the chop. The juices should run clear, with no pink in the center.
  • Be careful not to overcrowd the skillet when browning the pork chops. If the skillet is too crowded, the chops will not brown properly and will be more likely to steam.
  • If you don't have a skillet that is large enough to accommodate all of the pork chops, you can cook them in batches. Just be sure to adjust the cooking time accordingly.
  • The spiced maple sauce is a great way to add flavor to the pork chops. If you don't have maple syrup, you can substitute another type of sweetener, such as honey or brown sugar.
  • The apples in this recipe add a touch of sweetness and crunch. You can use any type of apples you like, but some good choices include Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Braeburn.

Conclusion:

These baked pork chops with apples and spiced maple sauce are a delicious and easy-to-make meal. The pork chops are juicy and tender, the apples are sweet and crisp, and the sauce is flavorful and tangy. This dish is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion. Serve it with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a salad.
