Tips:

  • Cook the Mostaccioli Noodles Al Dente: To ensure that the mostaccioli noodles retain their shape and texture when baked, cook them al dente, meaning they should be slightly firm to the bite.
  • Use Fresh Spinach: Fresh spinach imparts a vibrant green color and a delicate flavor to the dish. If you don't have fresh spinach on hand, you can use frozen spinach, but make sure to thaw and squeeze out any excess moisture before using it.
  • Don't Overcrowd the Baking Dish: To ensure that the mostaccioli bakes evenly and doesn't become soggy, don't overcrowd the baking dish. If necessary, use two baking dishes.
  • Bake Until Golden Brown: Bake the mostaccioli until the top is golden brown and bubbly. This indicates that the dish is cooked through and the cheese is melted and gooey.
  • Let it Rest Before Serving: Allow the mostaccioli to rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help the flavors to meld and the dish to set.

Conclusion:

Baked Mostaccioli Florentine is a delicious and comforting pasta dish that is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion. With its combination of tender mostaccioli noodles, creamy spinach sauce, and melted cheese, it's sure to be a hit with everyone at the table. The preparation is straightforward, making it a great option for busy home cooks.
