Number Of Ingredients 10

Cooking spray
1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne
Kosher salt
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon milk
8 ounces green beans, trimmed
1 cup all-purpose flour

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
  • Spray a large baking pan with cooking spray.
  • Mix the panko, Parmesan, onion powder, cayenne and 1/2 teaspoon salt together in a wide, shallow bowl. Whisk the eggs and milk together in another shallow bowl.
  • Toss the green beans in the flour. Working a few green beans at a time, shake off the excess flour and dip in the egg. Let the excess egg drip off and then toss in the panko, patting firmly so the crumbs adhere. Arrange the breaded green beans in a single layer in the prepared baking pan and spray thoroughly with cooking spray.
  • Bake until golden brown and crisp-tender, about 10 minutes.

Provided by Kare for Kitchen Treaty

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 pound fresh green beans (ends trimmed)
2 cups Panko bread crumbs
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt (plus more to taste)
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 eggs
2 tablespoons olive oil
The juice from one small lemon (optional)

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  • In a small baking dish (room for the beans to roll around), stir together the Panko bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Crack eggs into a shallow dish and whisk along with 2 tablespoons water.
  • Working with three or four beans at a time, dip the beans into the egg, then roll in the crumbs, turning and rolling to coat. Gently lay beans on the baking sheet in a single layer.
  • Evenly drizzle olive oil on top of fries.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, until tender and golden brown.
  • Squeeze a little lemon juice over the beans if you'd like and sprinkle with additional salt, if desired. Serve immediately.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh green beans: Look for beans that are bright green and crisp. Avoid beans that are wilted or have brown spots.
  • Trim the green beans: Cut off the ends of the beans. You can also remove the strings from the beans if desired.
  • Coat the green beans in oil and seasonings: Toss the green beans with olive oil, salt, pepper, and any other desired seasonings. This will help them crisp up in the oven.
  • Bake the green beans at a high temperature: Bake the green beans at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 15-20 minutes, or until they are tender and slightly browned.
  • Serve the green beans immediately: Green bean fries are best served hot out of the oven. They can be served with a variety of dipping sauces, such as ranch dressing, ketchup, or barbecue sauce.

Conclusion:

Baked green bean fries are a delicious and healthy snack or side dish. They are easy to make and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The crispy coating and flavorful seasonings make them a popular choice for parties and gatherings. So next time you are looking for a healthy and tasty snack, give baked green bean fries a try.
