1 tablespoon ketchup
1 teaspoon prepared yellow mustard

Categories     One Dish Meal

Time 35m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup evaporated milk
2/3 cup breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup sliced onion
1 (16 ounce) can baked beans

  • Add mixture of baked beans, 1/8 teaspoon salt, catsup, and dry mustard. Cover and heat.

Tips:

  • Soaking the beans overnight or for at least 4 hours before cooking helps to reduce the cooking time and makes the beans more digestible.
  • Rinsing the beans thoroughly before cooking helps to remove any impurities and excess starch.
  • Using a variety of beans, such as kidney beans, black beans, and pinto beans, adds flavor and texture to the casserole.
  • Adding diced vegetables, such as onions, celery, and carrots, to the casserole adds nutrients and flavor.
  • Using a flavorful sauce, such as a tomato-based sauce or a barbecue sauce, adds moisture and flavor to the casserole.
  • Baking the casserole at a moderate temperature for a long period of time allows the flavors to meld and the beans to become tender.
  • Garnishing the casserole with chopped fresh herbs, such as parsley or cilantro, adds freshness and flavor.

Conclusion:

Baked bean casserole is a versatile and delicious dish that can be enjoyed as a main course or a side dish.
