Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large bowl, combine the brown sugar, paprika and cayenne pepper and mix well. Set aside.
- Slice the bacon strips into thirds. Wrap each frank with a piece of bacon, secure with a toothpick and place on a baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining franks and bacon. Thoroughly coat each bacon-wrapped frank in the brown sugar mixture and place back on the baking sheet.
- Bake until the bacon is crispy, 12 to 15 minutes. The rub has a lot of sugar in it, so make sure to turn halfway through the cooking process so the bottoms do not burn.
Tips:
- Choose the right type of sausage: Smaller sausages, such as cocktail sausages or mini hot dogs, work best for this recipe. You can also use larger sausages, but you'll need to cut them into smaller pieces.
- Use thick-cut bacon: Thick-cut bacon will provide more flavor and will hold up better when wrapped around the sausages.
- Cook the bacon until it's crispy: This will give the bacon-wrapped little weiners a nice, smoky flavor.
- Don't overcrowd the pan: If you're cooking a lot of bacon-wrapped little weiners, cook them in batches so that they don't steam instead of fry.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce: Ketchup, mustard, and barbecue sauce are all popular choices.
Conclusion:
Bacon-wrapped little weiners are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or party food. They're perfect for game day, potlucks, or any other gathering. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a dish that everyone will love. So next time you're looking for a tasty and crowd-pleasing snack, give bacon-wrapped little weiners a try!
