Categories     Pork

Time 10m

Yield 1 cheese ball, 24 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
1 (1 ounce) package hidden valley ranch dressing mix (dry)
1 cup colby-monterey jack cheese or 1 cup cheddar cheese
1 (3 ounce) bottle hormel real bacon bits (or use bacon crumbled)

Steps:

  • Take 2 packages of cream cheese (softened) and mix till slightly whipped.
  • Add packet of ranch dressing and mix till incorporated.
  • Fold in 1 cup shredded cheese.
  • Pour bacon bits in a plate or pie tin.
  • Form cream cheese mixture into a ball with your hands.
  • Roll ball in bacon bits till covered. Wrap cheese ball in plastic wrap and place in the fridge.
  • When cheese ball feels firm, remove and serve with crackers.

Tips:

  • For extra flavor, use a variety of cheeses in your cheese ball. A blend of cheddar, cream cheese, and blue cheese is a classic combination. You can also add other ingredients like chopped bacon, crumbled walnuts, or diced green onions.
  • To make a smooth cheese ball, be sure to cream the cream cheese until it is light and fluffy. You can do this by beating it with a mixer on high speed for several minutes.
  • If the cheese ball is too soft, you can firm it up by chilling it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  • To coat the cheese ball in bacon, simply roll it in cooked and crumbled bacon.
  • Serve the cheese ball with crackers, vegetables, or fruit. You can also drizzle it with ranch dressing or your favorite dipping sauce.

Conclusion:

Bacon ranch cheese balls are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. They are also a great way to use up leftover bacon and ranch dressing. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can make a cheese ball that will be the hit of your next party.
