I found this gem in an old cookbook from my mom. It's super easy to throw together and put into the oven so you can have time to work on the rest of your meal or relax with a glass of wine!

Time 1h10m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 can(s) creamed corn
1 large beaten egg
1/4 c all purpose flour
1 c milk (whole or 2%)
2 Tbsp unsalted butter
1/2 tsp salt
ground black pepper, to taste
1 tsp sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Mix the creamed corn, beaten egg, flour, milk, salt, pepper, and sugar together.
  • 2. Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish. Distribute the butter to dot the top of the corn.
  • 3. Bake for approx. 45 minutes to an hour. You are looking for a golden brown color on top and for the corn mixture to be thickened. Let cool for about 5 minutes and enjoy!

Not a fan of the butter and spice combo. I think I'll stick to my usual grilled corn recipe.

The corn was a little overcooked for my liking, but the flavor was still good.

A bit bland for my taste. I think next time I'll add some chopped jalapenos and chili powder for a little kick.
