2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme

One 1 1/2-pound round rustic loaf of bread, such as sourdough or Italian
4 ounces smoked Gouda, shredded
4 ounces mozzarella, shredded
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Heat a large skillet with a lid over medium-high heat and add the bacon. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the bacon is golden brown, about 9 minutes. 1 unsliced loaf sourdough bread, round loaf
8 -12 ounces cheddar cheese, thinly sliced
3 ounces bacon bits (real bacon bits)
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 tablespoon dry ranch dressing mix
fresh ground pepper (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven 350 degrees.
  • Using a sharp bread knife, cut the bread into about 1 inch slices from side to side going in both directions, repeating until entire loaf is cut. Do not cut through the bottom crust. It should look something like an onion mum.

1/2 lb bacon
1/2 c diced onions
1/2 c diced bell peppers
