Time 2h40m

Yield 6 to 8 servings

Number Of Ingredients 9

3/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup rice wine vinegar
1 tablespoon hot chili sauce (recommended: sambal oelek)
1 (1-inch) piece ginger, finely chopped
3 garlic cloves, smashed and finely chopped
1 scallion, both green and white parts, thinly sliced
1 orange, zested
4 pork tenderloins
2 tablespoons coriander seeds, toasted and ground

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, combine the soy, rice wine vinegar, chili sauce, ginger, garlic, scallions and orange zest. Place the pork in a large container or bowl and pour the marinade over the pork. Cover with plastic wrap, and let sit for 2 hours at room temperature, or overnight in the refrigerator.
  • Remove the pork from the container, put the marinade in a small saucepan and bring it to a boil over medium heat. Remove from the heat and reserve it for drizzling over the pork when serving. *WARNING: This liquid MUST be brought to a boil to kill any bacteria from raw meat juices.
  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  • Dust the pork liberally with the ground coriander seed and place on the preheated grill. Brown it on all sides then move it to a cooler part of the grill to cook it to desired doneness, about 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Remove the pork from the grill to a cutting board and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Slice the pork on the bias and place on a serving platter. Serve drizzled with the reserved boiled soy marinade.
  • Pork- the other white meat!

ASIAN GRILLED PORK TENDERLOIN LETTUCE WRAPS

Asian Grilled Pork Tenderloin Lettuce Wraps image

I make this on one night, and "Tacos Al Pastor" on the second night because the two recipes share a lot of ingredients, but taste nothing alike. Tacos Al Pastor also requires overnight marinating, so this dish can be made the day the ingredients are purchase, while Tacos Al Pastor marinates for the second night. This recipe is also super healthy.

ASIAN GRILLED PORK TENDERLOIN WITH PINEAPPLE

Categories     Pork

Time P1DT20m

Yield 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 lbs pork tenderloin
1 (6 ounce) can pineapple juice
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons minced fresh garlic
2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger
1 1/2 teaspoons coarse salt
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cups peeled and cubed fresh pineapple (1-inch pieces)

Steps:

  • Combine everything except pineapple in large zip top bag. Press out as much air as possible and seal bag. Marinate in refrigerator 1 to 24 hours.
  • Preheat grill to medium-hot. Drain marinade. Place tenderloins on grill and cook 10 minutes on each side, or to internal temperature of 160°.
  • Skewer pineapple. Add to grill last 6 minutes, turning halfway through.
  • Slice pork 1/2" thick and serve with grilled pineapple.

Tips:

  • Select the right pork tenderloin: Choose a tenderloin that is firm to the touch and has a consistent color. Avoid tenderloins that have any signs of bruising or discoloration.
  • Marinate the tenderloin: Marinating the tenderloin in a flavorful mixture of herbs, spices, and liquids helps to tenderize the meat and infuse it with flavor. Allow the tenderloin to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.
  • Preheat your grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat before cooking the tenderloin. This will help to sear the meat and prevent it from sticking to the grill grates.
  • Cook the tenderloin over indirect heat: Indirect heat helps to cook the tenderloin evenly without overcooking it. To cook over indirect heat, place the tenderloin on one side of the grill and the heat source on the other side. Close the grill lid and cook the tenderloin according to the recipe instructions.
  • Use a meat thermometer: To ensure that the tenderloin is cooked to perfection, insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the meat. The tenderloin is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit for medium-rare or 160 degrees Fahrenheit for medium.
  • Let the tenderloin rest before slicing: Allow the tenderloin to rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing. This will help the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful dish.

Conclusion:

Asian grilled pork tenderloin is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed as a main course or as part of a buffet. The combination of flavorful marinade, tender meat, and grilled vegetables makes this dish a surefire crowd-pleaser. Whether you are a seasoned griller or a beginner, this recipe is sure to impress. So fire up your grill and give this Asian grilled pork tenderloin a try!
