Tips:

  • Use fresh apricots. Fresh apricots have a sweeter, more intense flavor than dried apricots. If you can't find fresh apricots, you can use dried apricots, but be sure to soak them in hot water for at least 30 minutes before using.
  • Use a sharp knife to cut the apricots. This will help to prevent the apricots from tearing.
  • Don't overcook the apricots. Overcooked apricots will be mushy and lack flavor.
  • Use a good quality pastry dough. A good quality pastry dough will be flaky and buttery. You can use a store-bought pastry dough or make your own.
  • Chill the pastry dough before baking. This will help to prevent the pastry dough from shrinking in the oven.
  • Bake the pastry bars until they are golden brown. This will ensure that the pastry bars are cooked through.
  • Let the pastry bars cool before serving. This will allow the pastry bars to set and the flavors to develop.

Conclusion:

Apricot pastry bars are a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. They are made with a flaky pastry dough, fresh apricots, and a sweet glaze. Apricot pastry bars can be served warm or cold, and they are always a hit with guests.
