Tips:

  • Use a variety of apples. This will give your strata a more complex flavor and texture. Some good choices include Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Braeburn.
  • Don't overcook the sausage. Otherwise, it will become dry and tough. Cook it just until it is browned.
  • Use a good quality bread. This will make your strata more flavorful and substantial. A French baguette or sourdough bread works well.
  • Don't soak the bread in the egg mixture for too long. Otherwise, it will become soggy. Just soak it for a few minutes, until it is just moistened.
  • Bake the strata until it is golden brown and puffed up. This will take about 45 minutes to an hour.
  • Let the strata cool for a few minutes before serving. This will help it to set and make it easier to slice.

Conclusion:

Apple sausage raisin strata is a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast or brunch dish. It is perfect for a crowd, and it can be made ahead of time. With its sweet and savory flavors, this strata is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
