Tips:
- Use a variety of apples: Different apples offer unique flavors and textures, so using a combination will create a more complex filling.
- Don't overcook the apples: You want them to be soft enough to easily spread, but not so soft that they lose their shape.
- Use a sturdy tortilla: Corn tortillas are a good choice because they're less likely to break when you're rolling them up.
- Be careful not to overfill the flautas: If you do, they'll be difficult to roll and seal.
- Cook the flautas until they're golden brown: This will ensure that they're crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
- Serve the flautas with your favorite dipping sauce: Some good options include salsa, guacamole, or sour cream.
