APPLE DIP (IT'S NOT JUST FOR APPLES ANYMORE)

Apple Dip (It's Not Just for Apples Anymore) image

I love this dip, possibly more than caramel dip! HOWEVER, it seems I have limited it's possibilities by implying that it should be reserved for apples solely from the recipe's title. That is not the case!! WHY should you try this dip? Well the marshmallow and cream cheese dip is great, but I believe it's the cinnamon that really sets it apart!! I think you could put the ingredients on a long list of things, but I'll let you use your own creativity for that. I prefer it with very tart apples, such as Northern Spy or Granny Smith, but have used it with all sorts since dh likes sweet and softer apples. It is very good and very easy and can be prepared in advance, such as for parties.

Provided by Angel Stowe

Categories     Dessert

Time 2m

Yield 3/4 cups dip, 10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon butter
1/2 cup plain fat-free yogurt

Steps:

  • Put brown sugar, cinnamon, honey, and butter in a microwave-safe container. No need to mix yet.
  • Microwave for 20 seconds, until butter melts. Remove and mix together.
  • Add yogurt and mix very well.
  • Served with apples. Haven't tried any other fruits!

Tips:

  • Use a variety of apples: This will give your dip a more complex flavor and texture. Some good options include Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Braeburn.
  • Adjust the sweetness to your liking: If you like a sweeter dip, add more sugar or honey. If you prefer a tarter dip, reduce the amount of sugar or omit it altogether.
  • Add other spices to taste: Cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves are all good choices. You could also add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a little heat.
  • Serve the dip chilled or at room temperature: Both ways are delicious, so it's up to your personal preference.
  • Apple dip is a great way to use up leftover apples: So don't be afraid to experiment with different recipes and find your favorite.

Conclusion:

Apple dip is a versatile and delicious snack or dessert that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. It's easy to make, and it can be customized to your own taste preferences. So next time you have a craving for something sweet, try making a batch of apple dip. You won't be disappointed!
