PEANUT BUTTER APPLE CRISP

This is a quick and easy but so-good dessert for any time of year. My mother made it, and it brings back fond memories of growing up in Vermont, where some of the best apples can be found in the Heroes. Serve with whipped cream or milk.

Tips:

  • Use a variety of apples. This will give your crisp a more complex flavor and texture. Some good options include Granny Smith, Braeburn, Honeycrisp, and Pink Lady.
  • Peel and slice the apples thinly. This will help them cook evenly.
  • Use a generous amount of peanut butter. This is what gives the crisp its signature flavor. If you don't like peanut butter, you can substitute another nut butter, such as almond butter or cashew butter.
  • Add some spices. This will help to enhance the flavor of the crisp. Some good options include cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.
  • Don't overcook the crisp. You want it to be bubbly and golden brown, but not dry. If you overcook it, the apples will become mushy.

Conclusion:

Apple and peanut butter crisp is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It's a great way to use up leftover apples, and it's also a healthier alternative to other desserts. So next time you're looking for a sweet treat, give this recipe a try.
