Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients. The better the ingredients, the better the ham salad will taste. Look for a good-quality ham that is not too salty or processed. You can also use leftover ham from a holiday meal.
  • Chop the ham and vegetables finely. This will help the ham salad to come together more easily and make it easier to spread on bread.
  • Use a mayonnaise-based dressing. Mayonnaise is the traditional dressing for ham salad, but you can also use Greek yogurt or sour cream if you prefer. Add just enough dressing to moisten the ham salad, without making it too runny.
  • Season the ham salad to taste. Add salt, pepper, and other seasonings to taste. You can also add a bit of Dijon mustard or chopped fresh herbs for extra flavor.
  • Chill the ham salad before serving. This will help the flavors to meld and make the ham salad more refreshing.
