Time 1h5m

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 c corn
2 eggs
1 c milk
1 Tbsp flour
1 Tbsp sugar, optional
1/2 tsp salt
1 dash(es) pepper
2 Tbsp butter, melted
1/2 c bread or cracker crumbs
2 Tbsp butter

Steps:

  • 1. Cook the corn. Beat the eggs and milk. Combine corn, eggs and milk, seasonings and 2 Tbsp butter. Mix well.
  • 2. Pour into greased 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
  • 3. Mix crumbs and butter and sprinkle over corn.
  • 4. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes or until mixture is set.

Tips:

  • Select the freshest corn available: Look for ears with tightly packed kernels and bright green husks. Avoid ears with dried-out or damaged kernels.
  • Remove the corn kernels from the cob: You can use a sharp knife or a corn stripper to remove the kernels from the cob. If using a knife, hold the ear vertically and slice downward along the length of the cob.
  • Use a generous amount of butter: Butter adds richness and flavor to the corn. Use unsalted butter so that you can control the amount of salt in the dish.
  • Season the corn with salt and pepper to taste: Start with a small amount of salt and pepper and adjust to your liking.
  • Bake the corn in a preheated oven: This will help to ensure that the corn cooks evenly.
  • Serve the corn immediately: Corn is best served hot and fresh out of the oven.
