Steps:
- 1. Blend blue cheese, cream cheese and egg until very smooth. Trim crust from bread(must do).Flatten each slice of crust-less bread with a rolling pin, then spread each piece with the cheese mixture.
- 2. Place one asparagus spear on the bottom of each slice of bread(cut to fit on bread and add together on bread) and roll up. Place the rolls on a freezer safe pan or plate(not touching each other)- then place in the freezer to firm up; so as to cut easier. This will also prevent cheese mixture from gushing out while slicing and baking.
- 3. Heat oven to 400^. Remove rolls from the freezer, cut each roll in half or thirds.(these can be made ahead, frozen and placed in freezer bags for future use). When ready to bake, place the rolls on a baking sheet and brush very generously with the melted butter. Bake for 20-25 minutes until lightly browned and crunchy.Serve at once.

Steps:
- 1. Rinse and cut the asparagus to about 4 inch tips, then toss asparagus in large mixing bowl with EVOO, salt/pepper, garlic, and onion powder
- 2. Cut the bacon package in half to make the pieces skinnier. Then wrap the bacon tightly from the tip, leaving as little green as possible
- 3. Lay on nonstick cookie sheet with the free end of the bacon down and add fresh cracked pepper to the bacon. Broil on the bottom rack in the oven.
- 4. Broil on bottom rack until bacon starts to brown and sizzle (about 5-7 minutes) flip all pieces over gently with tongs and repeat (5 more minutes)
- 5. Remove from cookie sheet and lay on paper towels to remove excess grease
- 6. Very lightly drizzle a little bit of syrup over the asparagus after arranging on a platter... ENJOY!!
Tips:
- Choose the freshest asparagus: Look for spears that are bright green and firm, with tightly closed tips.
- Trim the asparagus properly: Snap off the tough ends of the asparagus spears, where they naturally break.
- Cook asparagus quickly: Overcooking will make asparagus tough and fibrous. Blanch it for 2-3 minutes, or roast it for 10-12 minutes at 425°F.
- Don't overcrowd the asparagus: When roasting or grilling asparagus, make sure to give the spears enough space so that they can cook evenly.
- Season asparagus simply: Asparagus is a delicate vegetable, so it doesn't need a lot of seasoning. A little olive oil, salt, and pepper is all you need.
- Serve asparagus immediately: Asparagus is best enjoyed fresh out of the oven or off the grill. Don't let it sit around for too long, or it will lose its flavor and texture.
Conclusion:
Asparagus is a versatile vegetable that can be enjoyed in many different ways. Whether you're roasting it, grilling it, or sautéing it, there's sure to be an asparagus recipe that you'll love. So next time you're looking for a healthy and delicious side dish, give asparagus a try!
