SPICY BLOODY MARYS
Steps:
- Cut the celery in large dice, including the leaves, and puree in the bowl of a food processor fitted with the steel blade. Add the horseradish, onion, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, celery salt, kosher salt, and Tabasco and puree it again. Pour the tomato juice into a 2 1/2-quart container, stir in the celery and seasonings mixture, then add the vodka and chill. Place a few ice cubes in each glass, pour in the Bloody Mary mixture, and garnish with a celery stick.
ULTIMATE BLOODY MARYS
Steps:
- In a large pitcher, stir together the tomato juice, clam juice, and lime zest. In a small glass measuring cup, whisk together the lime juice and wasabi powder and add to the pitcher. Stir in the Tabasco, Worcestershire, vodka, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper.
- Spread the Old Bay Seasoning on a small plate. Moisten the rims of six highball glasses by running a lime wedge around the edge of each glass and dip the rims in the Old Bay Seasoning. Set aside to dry.
- Fill the glasses half full with ice and pour in the Bloody Mary mixture. For each drink, add 2 or 3 olives threaded on a 6-inch skewer, then place one shrimp and one slice of lime on the rim of each glass. Serve cold.
AL'S BLOODY MARYS
Al was my stepdad, who was a wonderful man and a great cook! One of his specialties was his Bloody Mary, and no matter how many pitchers he prepared for company, they always wanted more. My only modification has been to add a bit of horseradish. This is a great brunch beverage, but various friends always ask if I'll please make 'Al's Bloodys' when they come for dinner.

THE ORIGINAL MIX CLASSIC BLOODY MARY (A K A THE RED SNAPPER)
Fernand Petiot, who was the bartender at Harry's New York Bar in Paris in the 1930s, took credit for zapping tomato juice and vodka with Worcestershire sauce, lemon, salt and pepper. He moved to the King Cole Bar in the St. Regis Hotel in 1964, and renamed the cocktail the Red Snapper (the St. Regis wanted a classier name than Bloody Mary).

Steps:
- Shake and pour into a tall glass filled one-third with ice, garnish with green olives, and upsy-daisy. If that doesn't work, light three candles, take a cold shower, drink hot coffee, lie flat, and moan. And next time, try to behave.
- Begin by turning on music best suited for the occasion of a near-death hangover. A dirge is always nice. Then in a cocktail shaker, and, for those who like a kick in the head, a smidgen of horseradish.
Tips:
- Choose ripe, juicy tomatoes: The fresher the tomatoes, the better your Bloody Mary will be. Look for tomatoes that are deep red in color and have no blemishes.
- Use a variety of spices: Don't be afraid to experiment with different spices to find the perfect combination for your taste. Some common spices used in Bloody Marys include celery salt, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Add some heat: If you like your Bloody Marys spicy, add a dash of hot sauce or cayenne pepper. You can also add a slice of jalapeño or serrano pepper to the glass.
- Garnish your Bloody Mary: A Bloody Mary is not complete without a garnish. Some popular garnishes include celery stalks, olives, pickles, and bacon. You can also get creative and use other garnishes, such as fruit, cheese, or herbs.
Conclusion:
The Bloody Mary is a classic cocktail that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. It is a refreshing and flavorful drink that is perfect for any occasion. Whether you are hosting a brunch, a party, or just relaxing at home, a Bloody Mary is sure to be a hit.
