AIR-FRIED CHICKEN WINGS

Air-fried chicken wings image

Use an air fryer to make these easy chicken wings, and add the seasoning or sauce of your choice. They're perfect for a buffet or just a movie night snack

Provided by Anna Glover

Categories     Buffet, Side dish, Snack

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 4

1kg chicken wings
1 tbsp sunflower or olive oil
seasoning of your choice (use salt and pepper, or ½-1 tsp of either smoky BBQ, ras-el-hanout, garlic granules, celery salt or garam masala)
dipping sauce, to serve (optional)

Steps:

  • Separate each chicken wing in two at the joint, removing the wing tips if you like using sharp kitchen scissors. Toss the chicken wings in the oil and seasoning, then tip into an air fryer (you can either use one with a paddle, or arrange them on the tray of your air fryer if it doesn't have a paddle).
  • Program the air fryer to cook for 35 mins. Check the wings are tender and cooked through - they should be almost falling off the bone - and cook for a further 5 mins if needed. The skin should have bubbled and crisped up, and any excess fat from the chicken will have dripped off into base of the fryer (discard this). Don't leave the chicken in the fryer, or the steam will make the skin soft again. Immediately tip into a bowl and serve with sauce for dipping.

Tips:

  • Use a good quality Korean fried chicken mix: This will ensure that your wings have the best flavor.
  • Make sure your wings are dry before cooking: This will help them crisp up in the air fryer.
  • Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket: This will prevent the wings from cooking evenly.
  • Cook the wings in batches if necessary: If you have a large batch of wings, cook them in batches to ensure that they all cook evenly.
  • Serve the wings hot and crispy: These wings are best enjoyed immediately after cooking.

Conclusion:

This air fryer Korean fried chicken wings recipe is an easy and delicious way to make your favorite Korean dish at home. The wings are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and they're coated in a sweet and spicy sauce that is sure to please everyone. Serve them with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!
