Time 9m

Number Of Ingredients 2

8 slices Bacon
1/2 cup Water ((optional))

Steps:

  • Preheat the air fryer to 370 degrees F (187 degrees C).
  • Optional step: Add a little bit of water to the air fryer drip tray, to prevent smoking. Use just enough to cover the bottom of the tray below the grate; this was 1/2 cup in my air fryer.
  • Arrange the bacon in a single layer in the air fryer rack or basket, overlapping slightly. (Bacon in the air fryer will shrink as it cooks.) Depending on the size and shape of your air fryer, it may help to cut the bacon pieces in half.
  • Cook for 6 minutes. Open the air fryer and spread out the bacon pieces so that they aren't overlapping. Cook for 1-4 more minutes for regular bacon, or 3-5 more minutes for thick cut bacon, or until done to your liking.

Yield Makes 3-6 rashers

Number Of Ingredients 1

6 rashers streaky bacon, or 3 rashers back bacon

Steps:

  • Lay the bacon in a single layer in the base of an air fryer - be sure the layers aren't overlapping. The size of the air fryer basket will determine how many rashers you can cook at one time.
  • Set the air fryer to 200C and cook streaky bacon rashers for 6-10 mins - just-cooked bacon will take 6 mins, but crispier bacon will take 9-10 mins. Cook back bacon rashers for 4-8 mins, depending on your preference. If you are cooking in batches, remember that the second batch will usually be quicker as the air fryer has heated up.
  • Remove the bacon using tongs and put on kitchen paper to drain before serving.

Tips for Air Frying Bacon in the Oven:

  • Choose the right bacon: Look for bacon that is evenly thick and has a good amount of marbling. This will help ensure that the bacon cooks evenly and stays juicy.
  • Preheat your oven: Preheat your oven to the desired temperature before adding the bacon. This will help the bacon cook more evenly.
  • Use a baking sheet or air fryer basket: You can use either a baking sheet or an air fryer basket to cook the bacon. If using a baking sheet, line it with parchment paper for easy cleanup. If using an air fryer basket, grease it lightly with cooking spray.
  • Arrange the bacon in a single layer: Make sure the bacon slices are not touching each other. This will help them cook evenly and prevent them from sticking together.
  • Cook the bacon according to the recipe instructions: The cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the bacon and the desired level of crispiness.
  • Drain the bacon on paper towels: Once the bacon is cooked, transfer it to a paper towel-lined plate to drain the excess grease.

Conclusion:

Air frying bacon in the oven is a quick and easy way to cook bacon without all the mess. It results in crispy, evenly cooked bacon that is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. With a little practice, you'll be able to cook bacon in the oven like a pro!
